The Juniors gained their third successive victory on Sept. 11 with a 3-1 margin over Cambridge United in an away fixture. The home side were level at the interval, but two second-half goals put us well ahead at the finish. Hammers' scorers were David Matthews, Andy Parr and Dean Wells.

Hammers' Division Two side played the first 15 minutes of their match against Bristol Rovers with defender John Seaden in goal when goalkeeper Phil Whittington was delayed enroute, Whittington took over on his arrival — and Hammers went four up through Mark West (2), Engwell and Hardwick before the visitors replied twice

The Juniors were held to a draw by Charlton Athletic in a First Round tie of the Junior Division Cup at Chadwell Heath. Both goals came in the first half. Mark West scoring ours. The Hammers nearly won it in the last minute, but missed a good opportunity.

Our youngsters did well to win the replay at Eltham, as not all their ''regulars" were available. The teams were level at half-time (1-1), but we got on top before the final whistle for a 3-2 margin. Paul McMenemy scored twice. Paul Bat-tram once.

Star of the game was Mark West, who scored seven goals ; David Matthews netted once to make the final count 8-1 in Hammers' favour. Young West Ham apprentice Mark West set a club individual scoring record when he netted seven goals in Hammers' 8-1 Division One South East Counties League win at Oxford.
A former England Schools striker, Mark was one of chief scout Eddie Baiiy's associated schoolboy captures. He comes from High Wycombe. Hammers' other scorer at Oxford was Mark's striking partner David Matthews who got the final goal, after having created most of the others with sparkling play.

Although we fought back in the second half after being two down at the interval. Swindon Town ended as 3-2 winners at Shrivenham Road; Paul McMenemy and John Seaden were our scorers. The Wiltshire side thus eliminated us from the Junior Division Cup - which we won last season.

Swindon Town completed a double over our Juniors by winning the League game at Shrive-ham Road by 3-1; they had earlier knocked us out of the Divisional Cup. Our scorer on this occasion was Jimmy Tibbs from a penalty.

An away fixture versus Divisional leaders Wimbledon was a hard task to face . However, our youngsters had a tremendous 3-1 success, with goals netted by Paul Battram, Paul McMenemy and John Seaden.
The Junior Division has been reduced to 13 teams, as Charlton Athletic have now withdrawn.

The Juniors dropped a point, and drew 3-3 against Oxford United at windswept Chadwell Heath, having been two-up at half-time and three-nil ahead midway through the second half. Our scorers were Michael Engwell, Gary Nicholls and Dean Wells.
We now have no fixture until 19 February when we face Southend United, so have to await an opportunity to close the gap between ourselves and the leaders.

The home match against Luton Town brought an unexpected reverse. The visitors scored the only goal of the first half, but we drew level at 2-2 after they had increased their margin. Two late goals earned Town the points. Richard Sims and Mark West netted for us. With this result, we are certain to be placed third in the final table
