The Oxford United team was overwhelmed in the South East Counties Semi-final tie at the Manor Ground, when our youngsters romped to a 6-1 victory. The score-line reflects the overall performance, and we now meet Chelsea in the two-leg Final as they won 3-0 at Reading.

Mark West opened the scoring after ten minutes, and David Mathews put us further ahead five minutes before the interval. Mathews scored his second twelve minutes after the resumption, but Spurs got back into the game and netted twice to make the final count 3-2 in our favour.

Although our Juniors were two up at half-time v Chelsea at Harlington on April 24, the home side came back strongly in the second half to force a 3-3 draw; our scorers were Gregory Campbell, Paul Wilson and Mark West.
An unusual "double substitution" took place in our line-up; Andy Skinner went off injured in the 15th minute and was substituted by Curtis Warmington, who in turn had to give way to David Busby nine minutes from time. This was possible as two subs are allowed in addition to the starting XI.
