After winning their two opening games our Juniors have gone six games without a victory, and it appears that we shall have a hard task to qualify for the Div. II Cup semi-final play-offs which will be between the top four clubs in the qualifying tourney.
In an away fixture on Oct. 19 the Juniors shared the points with Southend United Juniors. Both goals came in the second half.

The Juniors resumed their League schedule with a home game v Chelsea Juniors. A second-half goal by D. O'Connell was sufficient to earn us full spoils.
The Cup competition will be resumed later, but we shall need to win both remaining games to have a chance of qualifying for the semi-final play-offs.

A goalless first half in the Juniors' home match v Orient Juniors last Saturday was a fair reflection of play. However, the Hammers came more into the picture after the interval, and we won a close encounter by 2-1.

Our Juniors had to win their final fixture in the Div. II Cup qualifying tourney in order to finish in the top four and gain a place in the semi-finals. This engagement v. Orient Juniors took place at Chadwell Heath, and during the first half the odds tilted sharply in favour of the opposition when goalkeeper Gary Sprout had to go off. Pat Creasey took his place in goal, and soon afterwards we surprised the O's by going ahead. A courageous display preserved the narrow margin until the final whistle, and we congratulate our youngsters on their performance.

As Gary Sproul was still on the injured list, Pat Creasey took over the goalkeeping spot for our Juniors' away fixture v Watford Juniors on January 4. Although beaten once in the second half he did very well, and the goal which we netted prior to the interval sufficed to bring a sharing of the points.

A 3 -1 win over Watford Juniors last Saturday kept our under]6Vs in wilh a chance of a League and Cup double. At present the championship appears to rest between Spurs and ourselves, whilst we have already made certain of qualifying for the knock-out semi-finals.

If the Juniors had won their three final games in the Div. II league tourney they could have ended as champions; but a 0-4 reverse at Southend completely stifled their hopes and they will have to be content with the runners-up spot.
