Ample proof of our foregoing statement regarding the youthful talent which is being nursed along by us was provided at Upton Park, having no home fixture for our senior sides we took the opportunity to stage a match here between West Ham Juniors and Canvey Boys, our two junior teams which consist of lads under the age of 18. The young Hammers won by 4-2 in a match ably handled by Mr. T, W. Bade, to whom our thanks are due for filling a late vacancy "in the middle."
Included in these two teams were a number who were members of last season's West Ham Juniors team that won the Pelly Cup, the under-18 championship of Essex. An attendance of over 2,000 saw a really first-rate display of soccer, and the skill shown by several of these youngsters brought deserved applause. We are confident that with the continuance of this policy we are building for the future, and that it will take a very good side to dismiss the present holders from this season's Pelly Cup competition.

With no Combination fixture, our Reserves travelled to to meetl Cheltenham Town in a friendly.  In a game that was not entirely satisfactory the home team gained a 2-1 win, our tally being credited to Harry Willims. However, it was pleasing to see Tommy Dixon on the field again, although he is precluded from playing competitive matches until the plaster which encases his damaged wrist can be removed.

The match between West Ham Boys and East Ham Boys in the Second Round of the English Trophy, provided a fine display of youthful endeavour and skill. Although West Ham ended as winners by a 5-1 margin, they had to struggle hard to overcome their local rivals who did not acknowledge defeat until the final whistle. As a result of this success. West Ham will meet Ilford Boys in the Third Round.
