Over 1,000 people saw West Ham beat Peterborough 2-1 at London Road. The proceeds were for Fletton's Salute the Soldier Week, and the organisers were Mr. Jack Crips and Mr. E. Shelton.
Before kicking off, Miss Molly Redmond, of the Court Players, shook hands with the teams. The game started at a fast pace, and within five minutes West Ham scored through Dunn. The lead was held until half-time.
A lapse in West Ham's defence in the second half let Ling through to equalise, but fifteen minutes later Bell scored the winning goal.
