Voetbal-techniek en tactiek
The Dutch Tobacco company 'Philips Brothers' based in Maastricht, Holland issued an album entitled Voetbal Techniek en Tactiek 'Football Technique and Tactics' in conjunction with C.J. Groothoff.
One of a collection of eight rare albums, each contains a series of 144 instructional art cards for budding footballers. The card below focuses on the technique of Hammers’ goalkeeper Edward Hufton in a game against Arsenal at the Boleyn Ground. Points are made about the merits of giving away a corner as a rather useful means of defence.
Today the descendants of the Philips tobacco family went on the establish the now world famous Philips Electronics Company.
