Although the tight scoreline flattered the Saints somewhat. West Ham should have scored four or five goals to put the game out of their reach long before the end. We scored our first goal on the half hour when a corner by Craig Etherington went deep to the far post were Ezomo Iriekpen was waiting. His header was too strong for Saints 'keeper Sevan and Hammers went one up.
Two minutes before the break Grant McCann latched on to a cross by Etherington and his left-foot shot gave Bevan no chance. The only, disappointment in the first-half was our failure to take our chances more ruthlessly. West Ham were also well in control during the second-half and on 54 minutes Craig Alexander saw his shot hit a post after some excellent football by the Hammers. Then a fine pass by Michael Carrick found Adam Newton on the right. His cross was met by Gary Alexander whose shot hit the bar.
After we completely dominated play, Saints scored in the 87th minute when their substitute Bradley beat Anthony Henry for pace to put the ball past the diving Stephen Bywater.

Unbeaten Hammers extended their lead to five points at the top of the FA Premier Under-19 League table with their sixth win of the season. After 25 minutes Michael Carrick scored following good work by Danny Bartley. Ten minutes later Ryan Briggs crossed from the right and Sean Byrne half-volleyed the ball into the back of the net. Norwich played better in the second-half but rarely troubled a Hammers side that included just two Under-19 players.
Hammers gave a trial to South African Mike Therling, who made his debut when he came on as a sub for Grant McCann.

In gale force winds, Hammers Under-19's dropped a point for the first time this season, but showed great determination to fight back to preserve their unbeaten record after being two down with 25 minutes to go. West Ham took a deserved lead after 28 minutes when Adam Newton scored a back-post header from Byrne's cross. Watford equalised when a centre was caught by the swirling wind and sailed into the net over the head of Alex O'Reilly. Watford went ahead just before half-time.
Four minutes after the break an under-hit back pass by Ryan Briggs allowed Watford to score a third. With just 15 minutes left, Craig Etherington put us back in the game with a first-time volley from Bartley's cross. The Hammers launched into non-stop attack and Grant McCann hit the post with an overhead kick. Three minutes from time O'Reilly saved well to deny Watford a fourth goal. From the resulting corner Newton broke down the right and crossed for Stevland Angus to equalise.

Ipswich Town, managed by former Hammers striker Paul Goddard, arrived at Chadwell Heath in torrential rain - and it stayed that way throughout the game. This was an excellent result for the Hammers because we were really stretched for players through injuries and illness. We were also without Michael Carrick, who travelled with the first-team squad to Newcastle - a tremendous experience for him. Richard Garcia headed our first goal from a Adam Newton cross and then went to create chance after chance that were all missed. We also went further ahead early in the second-half when Craig Etherington spotted the Ipswich goalkeeper off his line and tried to chip him - a la David Beckham - from 45 yards. Unfortunately the ball hit the bar. We continued to pile on the pressure and scored a second when a in swinging corner cut in viciously on the right. Moses Jjunju challenged for the ball and a defender sliced the ball into his own net. Game won!

A heavy pitch did not suit the Hammers passing game, but we had enough chances to have won the game. The first 30 minutes was played in a crowded midfield and the closest we came to. scoring was when Grant McCann fired over. Two minutes later Richard Garcia burst through but shot wide with only the Posh 'keeper to beat. On 50 minutes, Garcia beat a central-defender and hit a great shot that looked like hitting the back of the net, but somehow their 'keeper kept the ball out. Then moments later the keeper again saved brilliantly from a Craig Etherington volley. Posh almost snatched an undeserved lead when they broke out and with Stephen Bywater stranded out of his goal, their forward shot over the bar. Ezomo Iriekpen almost won the match with a header from a corner-kick, but the keeper made another fine save.

This top of the table ciash was switched to Upton Park at the last minute, because of the state of the pitches at Chadwel Heath. Arsenal took the lead on seven minutes when a mix up between Stephen Bywater and Shaun Byrne let Ormar in to score. Despite a couple of chances for the Hammers, the visitors had the best of the first-half." Four minutes after the break we equalised when Adam Newton crossed from right and Gary Alexander managed to get infront of a Arsenal defender to score. It was now all West Ham and Richard Garcia went close a couple of times before hammering us into the lead following good work by Michael Carrick and Alexander.

Gavin Holligan scored a hat-trick in his first game for the Under-19s as they achieved, their best League victory of the season in terms of goals at Chadwell Heath. We played very well on a heavy pitch that cut up badly. West Ham approached the game in the right way, with a lot of determination and tried to play football in Watford's half rather than get bogged down in their own. Hoiligan's first goal came in the fourth minute when he side-footed a Gary Alexander pass into the net Craig Etheringfon scored our second in the 19th minute after a shot from Michael Carrick rebounded from the Watford 'keeper straight into his path.
Holligan's second goal in the 67th minute was a great individual effort. With his back to goal, Gavin turned, swept past two defenders and shot low past the 'keeper. Gavin was perhaps a trifle lucky to complete his hat-trick in the 80th minute. Stephen Purches tried to hit a right-foot shot into the net, but he sliced his kick and the ball struck Holligan on the head and went in. If the ball had not struck Hoiligan in the head it would have gone wide. Adam Newton completed the scoring in the 83rd minute when he broke down the right, beat the Watford defence with his pace and toe-poked the ball under the advancing goalkeeper.

This fine win secured the three points Hammers Under-19's needed to finish top of their division in the FA Academy League — and gives them home draws for the rest of the competition until the semi-final stage. The Hammers played some excellent football on a very small pitch and scored first on 20 minutes. A corner by Carrick was headed out to Purches who put the ball back into the Ipswich danger-area for Izzy Iriekpen to beat their goalkeeper Stewart. We were then awarded a penalty when Holligan was pulled down in the box, but Iriekpen fired straight at Stewart. Ipswich equalised within a minute of the restart after the Hammers' defenders got themselves in a tangle. Adam Newton hammered us back intrant on 56 minutes and then Michael Carrick increased our lead in the dying minutes.

The game was only two minutes old when Adam Newton ran down the right wing and a cross to the far post found Byrne who headed the ball back across the goal for Richard Garcia to head past Kelly in the Spurs goal. The Hammers were well on top and looking to increase their score when Spurs equalised from a free-kick just outside the box. Then Byrne put in another great cross into the box for Garcia to slip the ball past Kelly to restore the Hammers lead. The second-half was more a scrap with two bookings to West Ham and one to Spurs.

Gary Alexander scored the two match-winners in the final 15 minutes of this Play- Off game at Chadwell Heath. Dons took the lead on the half hour when Shaun Byrne was unable to cut out a forward's run down the right and the Wimbledon lad smashed the ball past Stephen Bywater from the edge of the box. With the game slipping away, Adam Newton chipped the ball over the back of the Dons' defence for Alexander to volley home the equaliser. The same pair combined to produce the winner. This time Newton ran to the by-line and hit a deep cross which Alexander met with a great header at the far post.

The Hammers survived Everton pressure at a rain-lashed Upton Park to take a three goal lead to Goodison for the second-leg. Several outstanding saves by England's Under-18 goalkeeper Stephen Bywater either side of half-time kept the current Cup holders at bay. In contrast, Everton's 'keeper Dean Delaney struggled to cope with the atrocious conditions and was certainly at fault with the Hammers' third goal. But he could do nothing to prevent the Hammers' opener. Adarn Newton surged down the right and crossed for Bertie Brayley to head in from close-range. Michael Ferrante scored our second direct from a free-kick on the edge of the box. On 75 minutes a Michael Ferrante corner was fumbled by Delaney and Richard Garcia seized the opportunity to bundle the ball home from two yards out.

The Hammers fought back from being a goal down to eventually win through after a dramatic penalty shoot-out. The Hammers dominated the first-half but went a goal down on 25 minutes. Adam Newton clipped Courtney Pitt in the area and Sam Parkin converted from the spot.
But the Hammers were on level terms just three minutes later when Richard Garcia headed home following good work by Adam Newton and Gary Alexander. Eighteen minutes into tfie second-half, the Hammers took the lead after great work by Garcia found Michael Carrick who finished superbly. With 13 minutes remaining, Chelsea equalised through Sam Delia Bona.
Then eight minutes into extra-time it appeared Chelsea had restored their lead when Sam Delia Bono's free-kick crashed straight into the net. Fortunately for Tony Carr's side, referee John Moules disallowed the goal because he had indicated the free-kick was indirect. There was no further score and the match went into a penalty shoot-out. The Hammers magnificently converted all five taken by; Gary Alexander, Richard Garcia, Bertie Brayley, Anthony Henry and Craig Emerington. Alex O'Reilly produced the vital save on Chelsea's third penalty and the Hammers went through to the serni-finals where they will meet Everton again.

The Hammers fought a great rearguard action for much of their semi-final second-leg at Goodison Park. Everton attacked from the start in an effort to pull back a three goal deficit from the first-leg and Stephen Bywater made a crucial save in thel 2th minute to deny them a vital opener. From then on until the 86th minute when Everton broke the deadlock, our defence remained solid. Although Everton continued to have a lot of possession after half-time, the Hammers missed several good scoring chances. A shot From Michael Ferrante hit the bar and Joe Cole and Richard Garcia all had shots well saved. Said a delighted Tony Carr: " We lost but achieved the right result to put the Hammers into the Youth Cup Final against Coventry City. I'm well pleased." The crowd at Goodison was an estimated 10,000 plus.
