In 1914 Taddy & Co Ltd issued a third series of 401 players, bringing the total of footballers from their three sets to 1262. This series appeared exclusively with the ‘London Mixture’ verso (see example below), thus identifying them and these are also by far the most difficult cards to find nowadays. As well as having the identifying back, these cards are longer and also have the lettering ‘PROMINENT FOOTBALLERS’ with a larger initial letter in each word, whereas the first two series have lettering all of the same size.
