Only about 200 spectators witnessed thls match in the above competition yesterday at the Tottenham ground, the weather though fine, bring bitterly cold by reason of a keen nortb-easterly wind. Five minutes after the start Gilhooly opened account for the home side, who were playing against the breeze, and this lead the 'Spurs retaining till half an hour had elapsed when a long dropping shot from fall back Pudan was misjudged by Moles, who ran instead staying at home, the ball passing tamely into the net. At the interval the score still stood one all. The 'Spurs did nearly all the pressing in the second stage. Ambler effecting several good saves till at length he was beaten about midway through by a good, hot shot from Soulsby. After this the West Ham goal had several narrow escapes, a shot from Gilhooly striking the bar and rebounded into play. Towards the close the visitors had more the game, but failed to draw level, and the 'Spurs thus proved successful by two goals to one.

Tottenham Hotspur:
Moles, Stephenson, Stevens, Burton J., Montgomery, Burton O., Soulsby, Gilhooly, Evans, Barlow, Hyde
