These teams met in in the Walthamstow League competition on the ground at Wanstead, and after a very fast game the Excelsiors ran out winners by six goals to one. The play of the home team was a revelation to their supporters, Franks and Walledge on the left playing a grand game. Goals were scored for the Excelsiors by Ricketts 3, Hains, Reed, Franks.
